About Department
The Department of Sociology was established in 1999 in the beginning of this institution. This Department is one of the most important Department in the College and surroundings also. The Department has one full time faculty Dr. Kawale B.N .( M.A., SET., Ph.D )- as HOD – Professor & Research Guide and Mr. – Nitin Rajguru Assistant Professor, M.A., SET, Ph.D (Pursuing) as C.H.B./visiting faculty.
Department runs Bachelor’s Course, as sociology one of the optional subject for the B.A. and Generic Elective to the B.sc, BCS Course in three years Bachelor Degree course. This Department follows syllabus provided by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. This syllabus provide social sense amongst the students. It’s also tries to give them sociological understanding of various concept’s which we found in the society and at the same time it gives them sociological perspective to analysis social issues, social movements, social structure ,social problems, social thinkers and their theoretical contributions in the sociology. Faculties of the Department took imitative to make students familiar with the sociological discourse.
The department has organized many academic activities for the development of students. Basic features of this Department are Student oriented approach which is achieved through adopting student centric teaching- learning practices. The Department has implemented many activities for the development of students like: inauguration of Social sciences forum, field visit, practicals through survey, topic seminars of students in classroom, study tour, group discussion, wallpapers, seminar, workshop, guest lectures and books exhibition etc. In the classroom teaching our focus is on student’s academic progress as well as their personality development with various social skills.
