About Department

The Department ofMarathiwas established since the inception of the Indraraj,Arts, Commerce and Science College, Sillod in the Year 1998-1999. The department ofMarathi imparts instructions in the subject of Marathi and program prepared by Dr.BabasahebAmbedkarMaratwada University, Aurangabad at UG level.

B.A. (Marathi)subject course is of three year duration and divided into three parts, consisting of six semesters. The department provides teaching facilities in the subject of Marathi at the optional level. Its teaching programme is designed by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University to provide students with a broad overview of Marathi language and literature.

Objectives of the Department

To motivate students to understand the basic Marathi language.
To develop interest in Marathi language and literature education among the students.
To enable the students to acquire the skill of language, like Reading (comprehension), writing, Speaking (Communication) and listening skill.
To prepare students for the competitive exam. Like NET, SET, MPSC, UPSC.
To promote the understanding of cultural, social, political, economic, intellectual and religious changes in the past and their relation Marathi language and literature.
To promote the evaluation and assessment of Literature,language,story,poetry,drama,Biography,Autobiography,literacyprogramme and seminar.
To enable the students to face the global corporate world.
To develop self-confidence among students for personality development and language competence.
To extent students general intellectual development by improving their sense of proportion about Marathi language and literature.
To provide better alternative to those student who have passed their higher secondary examination.
